Behind the scenes
This collection was born, at first out of a curiosity to discover that interest and attraction that he already had for the sea. I wanted to get into that abstract feeling of mine and discover in depth what it meant to me; and through that, create these pieces that would end up giving life to those feelings that took shape in the poems.
After writing and choosing the poems that directed what was going to be each of the pieces; the process continued with the creation of a moodboard and then with a long material experimentation. It was looked at in various directions, from soap carving, silver wire, glycerin, plaster, spectating and others. From this, in a constant conversation with Daniel Ramos Obregón, he began to look at which paths achieved more fidelity to the poems and the ideas they transmitted.
Mood Board
Thus, a proposal for the collection was arrived at. It joined what worked very well from material exploration with the discovery of ways to link the pieces to my human body; my tears, the waves of my body and the essence that resides within me. Based on this proposal, it was adjusted taking into account the process of making the pieces and thus the final design of this collection was reached. This was done in different instances; through the creation of many molds, the use of lost wax, casting to shape the bronze, welding, finishing and finally silver plating.
